Our June 24th speaker was Beverly Jacobson, a member of the Rotary Club of Duval. Beverly is a member of the Board of Directors for Thrive Washington, an organization focused on early learning and creating opportunties for every child in Washington to get a great start in life. Beverly talked about the importance of early learning on making a long-term difference for children. Major efforts that Thrive is focused on include: child care quality rating and improvement system, home visiting programs, state funded preschool, and full-day kindergarten.
