A packed meeting today to listen to descriptions of two projects that our International Committee is involved with in Guatemala.
Healing the Children
Dr. Mike Mallahan talks about the locations of the audiology projects that Healing the Children is involved with in Guatemala with our club's support.

This August, Mike Mallahan took a group of five audiology students from the University of Washington to Guatemala to participate in audiology clinics. Here, second year graduate audiology student Annie Duchen describes their trip and the positive impact it had on each of the students. |
Emma Le Du, Co-founder and Executive Director of TINFA spoke about its
efforts to bring technology to grade school classrooms in Guatemala.
Joining her was César Puac, who is the in-country project manager in
Guatemala. And, this was César's first time to the United States too!
The University Sunrise Rotary Club is leading a district grant project to bring
projectors, computers and training to two schools in the Quetzaltenango
region of Guatemala. Our club is contributing $1,000 to the project and
through the wonder of Rotary District 5030 matching grants, our $1,000
will turn into $2,500 towards the twenty thousand dollar project!
